Life gets really tough and sometimes we’re surrounded by negativity but we need to find a way to continue to live life to the fullest and not allow all of that to consume us.

Practice Gratitude
One way to do this is to keep a gratitude journal.
Write down all the things that you’re grateful for in life. This will help you to appreciate life more as you see just how blessed you are.
Practising gratitude goes a long way to improving mental health.

Spend More Time With The People You Love
If you want to live a happier and more positive life then one way to do that is to spend more time with people you love. The people who make you feel all warm inside.
This could be your family, friends, significant other or whoever means a great deal to you.
Discover Your Passion & Immerse Yourself In It
Find something that you’re really passionate about and spend your time working on it.
You’ll see that you find yourself feeling more fulfilled and happier in your soul.
My passion is writing, I’m supposed to be working on a book right now but I’m actually struggling to write lately.
I spend heaps of my free time on my blog trying to come up with new articles for you to enjoy and it brings me such joy.
Start Journaling
Keeping a journal of your thoughts will help you get rid of any negative thoughts and feelings as you can use it to express your innermost thoughts.
If you don’t want to keep a physical journal then there’s the option to do it digitally using an app.
I’ve started journaling each morning using the HabitYou app; which is an app I’m using to help me to form healthy habits.
Pray or Meditate
If you want a happy and positive life then prioritizing your spiritual health is essential.
Practice daily prayer and mediation to help you achieve inner peace.
When you’re at peace with yourself and learn how to deal with your inner feelings you’ll find you’ll gain control of your feelings and won’t let negative ones get the best of you.
One thing I’m teaching myself through meditation is to let negative thoughts pass and not allow them to take control.
Feel what you feel and don’t let it consume you.
Exercise
Yes, I know, I’m mentioning exercise in a blog post for like the millionth time. That’s how important I believe it is!
The other day I was livid and I reacted negatively. I went for a run to calm myself down and came back feeling renewed and realised that I should just stop reacting when I feel angry.
I use my rage to burn calories instead; which is great because the end result is that I’ll be super fit. Not that I’m raging mad all the time…
Working up a sweat is ideal for releasing tension and negative energy.
It’s one of the best stress relievers.

Surround Yourself With Supportive Friends & People
Having a strong support system is crucial in this world. The world can be ugly and cruel at times.
You need people that you can count on to help you through your rough patches.
Laugh Until Your Belly Aches
Spending more time with people and doing things that make you laugh is an awesome way to boost overall happiness and bring joy to your life.
After all, they say laughter is the best medicine.
