Things We Should All Do More Of

Hey there, thanks for joining me on the blog.

I hope you’ve been enjoying my Blogtober content. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy reading this post.

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time alone lately trying to regroup after returning from Cape Town and started thinking about what I want to do more of in life.

And that’s what brought me to this post.

Below is a list of things that I think we should all be doing more of.

Things We Should All Do More Of

Traveling

Now, I know that travelling is a luxury that many of us can’t afford (myself included in my current situation) but it is something we should all aim to do more often.

You don’t even have to start far. Try travelling locally or so small weekend getaways, whatever suits your current budget.

I’ve been binge-watching The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals and it’s only made me want to travel more! The places they go to look like paradise!

Reading

Have you noticed just how often I encourage you guys to read?

Reading is one of my favourite pastimes!

I’m currently reading Knife by Jo Nesbo and I still have quite a few more books sitting in my reading pile that I’m hoping to get through by year’s end.

Reading is such a great hobby to adopt; especially if you’re a writer or aspiring writer. I’ve come up with a number of blog posts while reading books.

Walking

Not only is going for a walk great exercise, but it’s also therapeutic.

It’s good to take a walk once in a while to or just to enjoy some fresh air.

Spending Time Outdoors

Spending time outdoors can do wonders for your mental health.

It doesn’t have to be the great outdoors, even just being outside in your garden, the beach, anywhere where you can enjoy a nice breeze and some cool fresh air.

You could even try outdoor activities such as mountain climbing or hiking (which are on my bucket list). Not only are these activities fun but they’ll keep you fit and healthy and that’s what I’m all about!

Other fun outdoor activities include camping, horse-riding, going on picnics etc.

Make Practising Self-Care A Priority

We should all start prioritising self-care.

There are many ways in which one can practise self-care and it can be as simple as just doing more of what you love.

By definition, self-care is a term that describes everything that one does deliberately for their mental, physical and emotional well-being.

That being said, self-care means different things to different people so whatever activities you do that make you feel good and feed your soul can be your form of self-care.

“Saying no can be the best form of self-care”

Practising Gratitude

A great way to practise gratitude is to keep a gratitude journal.

Gratitude journaling has become increasingly popular as a way to improve mental health and to just learn to appreciate all that you have in life.

You can do this using a notebook or your cellphone. There are many free journaling apps available that you can download, some of which are specifically for gratitude journaling.

Spending Time With People Who Uplift Us & Make Us Feel Good

I think this one is especially important. Life is hard!

We need to surround ourselves with people who will uplift us, make us feel good on even our worst days and people who will help us to grow and become the best version of ourselves.

I spent the day with my brother from another mother and had such a good, relaxed time that I forgot that I was supposed to be working on this post I didn’t finish and as a result, it was published late…

These are the things I think we should all do more of. Which ones are you adding to your routine? Let me know in the comments.

Whatever makes you genuinely happy and feeds your soul, do more of that!
